Plans For a New Site

June 10, 2009 at 8:17 PM

For a while now, I have had the domain name, toxic-gaming.com, and recently I was able to grab toxicgaming.com without that dash in the middle. For the whole time I have owned the domain, I am yet still planning on what to do with Toxic Gaming. What lies is the what am I going to put, how am I going to pull it off, and what language am I going to program it in.

I did have other plans to make a social networking site, but scrapped that for various reasons, one being it would be impossible to compete with other big sites such as Facebook, another is not having the resources to pull it off, and third is there are many other social networking sites that people don’t know about, such as Hi5 and Orkut. I am actually not a big fan of social networking sites, especially MySpace as you can see on my older posts.

What am I going to put on Toxic Gaming?
There isn’t much I’ve thought of yet, I plan on making it a gaming community some day. Feel free to share your thoughts :) .

How am I going to pull it off?
It won’t take much resources to pull this website off, it would survive on my server until one day it gets big. It also depends on how much knowledge on the language I’m programming it in.

What language am I going to program it in?
Originally it was going to be PHP, but even since I learned about MVC, I’ve been experimenting with new languages and frameworks (including PHP) to see what fits me best, and how much it would cost to run a site under it (hint, ASP.NET).

I appreciate your thoughts and comments :) .
